Rabindra Raj Giri

Dr. Rabindra Raj Giri holds Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering (2002, Saitama University, Japan, Japanese Government Scholarship); Master degree in Environmental Engineering (1999, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, AIT scholarship sponsored by Japanese Government); and Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (1992, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, India, TCS Colombo Plan Scholarship).

Dr. Giri joined AITM in May 2014 as the Head of Civil Engineering Department & Senior Faculty and has been working in the institution since then. He has more than twenty years of research and professional experience in Civil and Environmental Engineering fields. Before joining AITM, he was involved in cutting-edge research activities in Osaka Sangyo University, Japan (Water and Wastewater Treatments) and Saitama University, Japan (Contaminants Movement in the Subsurface) for eleven years. Also, he worked as a Civil Engineer in Nepal for five years.

Dr. Giri has published about two dozens of peer reviewed journal articles, and presented in about a dozen of international conferences. He is keenly interested in academics & research. His research activities include advanced oxidation technologies (AOTs) & membrane technologies for emerging organic micropollutants in water/wastewater treatments, fates of antiviral drugs in the water environment & their consequences, environmental issues of the developing countries like Nepal. Dr. Giri strongly believes in “Quality Education” for uplifting overall status of the society, and his career is dedicated for “Quality Education” in Nepal.
