Er. Shankar Nath Rimal

Chairperson, Advisory Board

The great Greek philosopher, Plato, has stated“Education makes good men, and good men act nobly”.
This quotation captures the very essence of education – to produce good men, who act nobly. In this 21st century, when the world is becoming increasingly preoccupied with materialism, when the commercial interests of a nation takes precedence over the greater interest of humanity resulting in unnecessary social upheavals and even wars amongst nations, there is a need for good, noble men in all countries. Quality education can instill goodness and nobility in men. It is in this context of quality education and its importance and necessity that I am very honored and privileged to have been invited to be the Chairperson of the Advisory Board of Nepal Education Foundation – Consortium of Colleges, Nepal (NEF-CCN)

The colleges under the umbrella of NEF-CCN – LA College of Higher Studies, Xavier Academy and the various schools under WhiteHouse Education Network (WHEN) – are all reputed institutions, which are synonymous with academic excellence in Nepal.

Asian Institute of Technology and Management (AITM) has been established recently to conduct the 4 AIT programs in WHEN Campus, Knowledge Village, Khumaltar Heights, Lalitpur, as per the Memorandum of Agreements (MoAs) signed between AIT and NEF-CCN on 15 June 2011. These programs will be conducted in tandem with 6 existing programs being offered by WhiteHouse Institute of Science and Technology (WHIST), 2 existing programs offered by WhiteHouse School of Hotel Management (WHSHM) and 2 existing programs offered by WhiteHouse Higher Secondary School (WHHSS).

All the institutions associated with NEF-CCN are managed by educationists, who are truly committed to excellence. Therefore, I am very honored to be associated with the colleges under NEF-CCN and with the educationists managing the NEF-CCN colleges. With this honour and privilege comes great responsibility, which I will strive to fulfill in an advisory capacity with other distinguished advisory board members, drawing upon my and my fellow advisory board members’ vast experiences. We will strive to provide timely and encouraging advice to ensure that NEF-CCN and its colleges fulfill the vision and mission to be truly centers of excellence.

On behalf of the Advisory Board, it is my pleasure and honour to welcome all those who wish to be associated with AITM as AITM embarks on the arduous but extremely fulfilling journey of imparting quality education to produce good men, who act nobly.
