December 12, 2018

Asian Institute of Technology and Management (AITM) and International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) signed a collaboration agreement on October 01, 2018 to carry out a study for estimating carbon footprint of interlocking Cement Stabilized Earth Block (CSEB) houses constructed by ICIMOD for local marginalized residents of Dhungentar, Nuwakot district, Nepal, which was adversely impacted by the 2015 earthquakes. A three-member (Dr. Rabindra Raj Giri, Mr. Pravakar Pradhan and Er. Prakash Dulal) AITM team visited the Dhungentar on October 6 and 7, 2018 to observe the reconstruction site and collect necessary data/information for carbon footprint estimation of the interlocking CSEB houses constructed there. The final report of the study was submitted to Strategic Cooperation Unit (SCU) of ICIMOD on the 10th of December 2018.
