The students of sixth and eight semesters B. Tech in Biotechnology, AITM, Khumaltar visited Dabur Nepal Nursery, Banepa on 26 July 2018. There were 26 students and the team was lead by Mr. Hari Krishna Saiju, Head, Department of Biotechnology, AITM accompanied by the faculty members Mr. Binod Mishra, Mr. Rabin Shrestha and Abhisesh Bajracharya.

Dabur was founded in 1884 by the late S K Burman. Dabur today has become world’s largest Ayurvedic natural healthcare company. Dabur entered Nepali market in the year 1989 and started commercial production in year 1992. Since then it has contributed greatly to Nepal’s exports creating about 1,000 direct employments and about 20,000 indirect employments in the country.

The students were briefed by Branch Manager Mr. Sandip Giri. He briefed on the various ongoing activities in the Nursery. He also discussed on different medicinal plants and their medicinal values that are grown in the Nursery. The students also visited computerized modern green house whose climatic condition could be controlled as required. Students also visited the Historic City, Panauti which is just far from the Nursery.
