B. Tech in Biotechnology Second Semester students (2015 Batch) of AITM accompanied by two Lecturers Mr. Rabin Shrestha and Mr. Binod Mishra visited Nepal Dairy Pvt. Ltd. factory, Khumaltar, Lalitpur on 29 December 2016 as a part of Chemical Engineering subject industrial visit. The Biotech students were briefed about the industry. This Dairy was established in 1980 by a group of entrepreneurs. It is the pioneer dairy in private sector in Nepal. It started as a cottage dairy in the busy Mahaboudha Street in Kathmandu. It operated its business in a modest way with yogurt in a clay pots. Since its inception, Nepal Dairy has been growing steadily and broadening the customer base. It produces Yogurt, Cheese, Paneer, Butter, Icecream, Methai, Milk. It has expanded its factory to handle 10,000 liter per hour. It is growing faster than ever anticipated with its acronym nd’s.
