AITM School of Hotel Management organized one day seminar on “Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)” for the senior students of SHM. The seminar was facilitated by Mr. Pravin Dawadi who is a member of Nepal Vocational hospitality services (NVHS) and actively involved in food hygiene trainings to various Colleges, Hotels, and Restaurants since 2002. Mr. Dawadi talked about the food hygiene, food contamination, food poisoning, micro organisms, food hazard and different food borne diseases at the seminar. Mr. Pravin also had shown a short documentary about the present condition and practice of food hygiene in Nepal. Twenty students attended this seminar which was followed by an hour exam related to the seminar and question & answer session where students put forward their queries.

HACCP is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product.
