A half-day interaction program between a group of students from Ochanomizu University, Tokyo, Japan, and AITM students was organized on August 22, 2017. Fourteen undergraduate students from Ochanomizu University led by two Professors and about fifty students and faculties from different departments/schools of AITM participated in the program.

The primary objective of the interaction program was to have face to face communication and experience/idea exchange between the visiting Japanese students and AITM students. The students/faculties from both sides presented on different topics followed by an interaction among them. In the beginning, visiting Associate Professor Mr. Amrit Man Tuladhar presented on “History of Earthquake and Recent Earthquakes in Nepal” followed by a presentation of two B.E. Civil 6th semester students on “Climate Change Impacts and Risks in Nepal”. Then, two students from School of Hotel Management presented on “Tourism Industry and Destinations in Nepal” followed by a presentation of B. Tech. Biotechnology student on “Ongoing Research Projects in Biotechnology Department of AITM”. Then, two Japanese students presented separately on their research works and different aspects of Ochanomizu University. Finally, the students/faculties from both AITM and Ochanomizu University were divided into groups of five people and a group discussions took place on wide-ranging topics like language, culture, Japanese animations, study etc., which continued for more than an hour.
