AITM News and Events >> Parent Dining Program organized by BHM & IMI-III semester


“Parent Dining Program 2017” was conducted on the initiation of the School of Hotel Management as part of Semester III students’ co-curricular activity. This activity was designed to make Parents/Guardians familiar with schools’ standards and learning ambiance. Parents/Guardians were invited for lunch with SHM executive’s team, other invited guests and faculty members. Students enthusiastically served their parents as their guests. “Parent dining” is a yearly co-curricular activity of School of Hotel Management for students to show their creativity. This program was a unique experience for both parents and students. A total of 65 parents and guardians were present in the program. Mr. Basant Joshi delivered the welcome remarks and Prof. Dr. Sriram Bhagut Mathe, Chairperson of AITM, highlighted on the dining theme “Ethno Nepalese Cuisine (Newari)”and hoped that this cuisine will be promoted to the rest of the world by the student ambassadors.

The program was initiated and supervised by Mr. SugamTamrakar, faculty of Food and Beverage Services and Mr. Kedar Silwal, Executive Chef of the School of Hotel Management to teach the students on the ongoing tradition and knowledge of cultural, food and beverage habits and the uniqueness of Newari cuisine.

In the program, the students of Semester I displayed their architectural and interior design skills by displaying different restaurant setups.
