Asian Institute of Technology and Management (AITM) organized its 14th public seminar on “Understanding Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability: Business Ethics in Action” which was conducted by Prof. Chhanda Chakraborti , visiting faculty member at AITM on 21/March/2014.It consisted of various interesting topics related to Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability. The seminar highlighted the various definitions according to various scholars and their view points. The seminar further delivered the information on how CSR is looked upon as in the different parts of world, for instance in Asia (in the context of India) and in European countries. The seminar also further highlighted the importance of SCR in the aspect of corporate governance. The new definitions, developments and initiations in this field were discussed.

The seminar had approximately 30 participants including students, faculty members and staffs at AITM and other people concerned. After the session was completed, some interactions and discussions among the audience were done. And the program ended with discussions and round of questions and answers. In this way, the program helped in broadening the knowledge related to Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability which seemed to be a knowledgeable and fruitful program.
